December 6, 2015 - Great Wolfe Lodge

We took an impromptu trip to Massachusetts to the Great Wolfe Lodge this weekend....we can't wait to go back! We left around 10am yesterday and got there around noon. While I was checking in, a member of the "wolf pack" made Bryanna a balloon animal and then we went straight to the water park for a few hours. By this time Adelynn needed a nap, so we went back to the room to rest for about an hour and then went to dinner. After dinner, the kids put their pjs on and we went down to the lobby for a character show and story time where it snowed inside! This kids loved this, it was pretty magical. The lobby is decorated so beautifully...there are lots of Christmas trees, fake snow, gingerbread house...and many other holiday decorations that really make it feel special. Today we went on a Wolf Walk, made some crafts (snowflake ornament and button), played in the arcade, ate lunch and then finished our stay at the water park. Both girls enjoyed going down the water slides, lazy river, wave pool, and splashing around in the water. There was also a hot tub that we were all able to go in. Half of the hot tub was located inside and the other half outside...it was nice to go in and warm up after playing in the water park for a while.

When I booked the trip, I mentioned we were celebrating Scott's birthday and so he got unlimited free ice cream the whole stay! Of course we all shared it, but that was a nice surprise! We hope to make this an annual trip...we had such a great mini vacation and can't wait to go back!

Bry picked out a hedgehog and Adelynn a baby wolf as their souvenirs.

Walking down for breakfast this morning. Adelynn is one independent girl! She doesn't want to be held or hold hands, she wants to be like her big sis and just go. We really have to keep an eye on her because she just goes wherever she wants to!

The girls were a little nervous about the waves but ended up really enjoying them...Adelynn stayed up by the "shore" as the waves were a little rough. The indoor water park is divided into two areas. One side had the wave pool, and a cute little kiddie area...and the other side had the hot tub, lazy river and another kiddie area that was a little bigger with slides, and a huge water bucket that dumps every time it gets filled.

Bryanna found a friend today at the wave pool (Dyela). It was as if they were instant best friends.

Adelynn is mesmerized by characters. She loves saying hi to Santa and it was the same with Wiley. She says hi, walks close and waves but won't get too close.
