April 14, 2015 - Baby Doll, 9 Month Appointment, Feeding Update, EczemaUpdate

Adelynn LOVES her baby doll! She was playing with Bryanna's baby so we got her one of her own - her first baby! She loves to smile at it and kiss its face...and chew on his hands and feet.

We had Adelynn's 9 month appointment today. I'm not sure why both of my babies are so scared of people, but of course the second the nurse and then Doctor come in, she starts to tear up. It makes me so sad when she gets shots and cries - it's so rare that she cries so it makes me sad to see it. She weighs 22lbs 15.5oz (97 percentile), height is 28.75" (89 percentile) and her head circumference is 46.5cm (98 percentile), although I don't think this is really accurate since I saw her measure and there was a huge gap in between the tape and her head.

We have been continuing to thicken her liquids and it is working. I gave her water recently while we were at a restaurant and she still choked on it, so I know she still has the problem with thinner liquids. We went to the ENT on Monday the 6th and he put a scope in her nose and down her throat. He said that everything looked anatomically correct, so the next step is a swallow study. The study is scheduled for the 22nd.

Her schedule for the day is - wake up and drink 6/7oz of formula, eat solids around 8:30/9am, nap 9:30 to 11am, 6/7oz bottle at 11am, solids for lunch around 12:30, nap with Bryanna at 1:30pm (Bryanna loves when Adelynn naps with her!), sleeps for 1.5-2hrs, another bottle after nap, eats solids for dinner with us and another bottle before bed around 7:30pm. She has slowly weened herself down to two naps a day with the occasional third nap if she didn't get in good naps earlier in the day or is having a growth spurt.

She LOVES to feed herself! She doesn't really take puree foods anymore...she's an independent girl! She has been eating things like avocado, bananas (although she isn't into them as much anymore), peas, carrots, beans and I usually give her some of the foods we cook for dinner. She seems to love salty foods over sweet...just like her Daddy!

She is so ticklish and so smiley. All that you have to do is pretend to sneeze or put your face up to hers or on her belly and you will get a huge smile.

She likes to grab her feet when I change her diaper and kick her feet and squirm all around making it a so difficult! LOL

This has been happening for at least a month now...she gets so mad when she is playing with an object/toy and you take it away from her. Her lip starts to quiver and she belts out a huge waaaaaaa! It maks me so sad that I want to give it back to her but it's usually the remote or something similar that she shouldn't have.

She isn't crawling yet but she is all over the place! She rolls one way, looks at where she wants to go and spins herself around then keeps on rolling. She keeps getting into the cat toys and down the hallway playing with cat door. We definitely have to keep an eye on her because she is into everything! Bryanna is such a good big sister and when she sees her get close to the step down into the dining room, she runs over and blocks it saying, "no baby!"

She absolutely loves seeing the kitties walk by and squeals when they get close enough so that she can touch them (we just have to watch her because she keeps getting a little to close to their butts! ewwwww!). We swear she is saying Kitty! It sounds more like Kikee. Scott and I heard it on two separate occasions, so this could be her first real word!

We have nice little moment after I feed her the bottle. I will sit in the chair and put her on my chest and she will just smile and make all kinds of noises - today she gave me a big kiss! She also loves to stick her tongue in between her mouth making a "th" sound and thinks that is so funny.
