July 2, 2014 - Adelynn Arrival!

Many of you may know my struggle with the decision on if I should have a c-section or try for a natural birth with this pregnancy. After discussing it with my doctors, they pretty much couldn't give me any advice on which way would be the best for me. The main point that I hung on to was that every delivery is different and just because I had a traumatic delivery with Bryanna, doesn't necessarily mean I will have one with this pregnancy. I decided to roll the dice and try naturally. I am so happy...words can't even describe how happy and thankful I am for my decision. My delivery went great and I had a beautiful baby!!!

My labor started Tuesday around 2pm with contractions 20 minutes apart. In my head this was the real deal since the contractions felt more intense than what I have been experiencing before. They started to come closer together and around 10pm we headed to the hospital. The contractions were extremely painful at this point and for good reason, they checked me and I was 5cm dilated....yay! By the time I got to the delivery room I was 6cm - I swear these contractions were even more painful than what I experienced with Bryanna so I opted for the epidural...so glad about that! I started pushing around 10am and our beautiful Adelynn was born at 10:30am weighing 7lbs 11.5oz and 20" long. She had the cord very tightly wrapped around her neck so the doctor had to cut it before she came out but thankfully that didn't cause any problems.

Bryanna was so cute and excited when she walked into the room to see Adelynn for the first time, it was love at first sight. After taking a look at her she says, "Yep, we are going to keep her!"

A HUGE thank you to my mom and dad for coming and helping us out. Bryanna had such a special time with Grandma and I am so happy and thankful mom was here to watch her while we were in the hospital...we seriously couldn't have done it without her!
