March 22, 2015 - Dada, Eczema

She finally said it! I was upstairs while Scott was downstairs with the kids and he came rushing up the stairs so excited!

Adelynn has the worst eczema I have ever seen right now! I've been giving her wheat and eggs, so I'm assuming that is the culprit. She has had it for a few weeks now and I have been putting a homemade lotion consisting of coconut oil, shea butter, lavender and tea tree essential oils on it, but from what I'm reading, eczema is usually triggered from something you eat. We aren't giving her any wheat or eggs right now, I started her on a pro-biotic and I'm continuing with the lotion - I'm hoping this gets rid of it! It doesn't bother her at all and I'm not sure how it couldn't because it looks itchy and painful!

March 21, 2015 - Bowling, Grandpa & Grammy Kelly Visit

JGrandpa and Grammy Kelly came this Saturday and left on Monday. Adelynn has change so much since they saw her last, she's gotten so big! We had a lot of fun it went bowling twice.

Final score! Grandpa beat Scott by one pin!

Second round, Scott kicked some butt!

March 9, 2015 - Straw Sippy

Adelynn has been doing so great from drinking from a straw. We bought this Honeybear, as per aunt Shannon, and we've been working on it for about 1 to 2 weeks. She's also been practicing taking sips from an open cup.

March 2, 2015 - 8 Months!

Happy 8 months baby girl!

This little lady is into everything! She is barrel rolling around and grabs at anything she sees so we have to really watch this one!

She has been doing this for a while and I don't think I've mentioned it before. During feedings, she loves to play and pull my hair and she likes to gingerly stroke my face and then scratch it! Ouch! It hurts and I have some cat scratch marks on my face and neck to prove it and it doesn't matter if her nails have just been clipped. She will grab and hold the bottle when I say, "hold your baba." She smiles and thinks it's funny when I ask her to hold it.

We still have to thicken her formula. It is such a pain and is so messy and slimy. Sometimes it's hard to get the right consistency which makes it difficult because if you make it too watery then you have to start over! You boil the water and then add the premixed arrowroot with water. See how slimy!?

During feedings, especially solid foods, we ask her if she is done eating and she shakes her head from side to side so that we know she is done.

She has been doing this loud screech/squeal lately, it's pretty funny but so loud!

This little girl is so ticklish. Tickle her under her chin, her belly, thighs or bottoms of her feet and you will be sure to get a laugh.

She LOVES to play with the strings that are attached to hoodies. She always smiles when she grabs them, tugs them and puts them in her mouth.

Gerber baby - I have heard this so many times, and three times in the last week!

She lifts her belly up quickly and when propped into crawling position stays for a while and rocks. I wonder if her diastasis recti will affect her crawling at all.

One more new thing is that she gets so upset when I take something away from her...a toy, spoon, remote...anything that she was playing with.

She is getting so squirmy with diaper changes and making it so difficult! The worst is when there is a #2...I'm scared it's going to get all over!

March 1, 2015 - Talking

Adelynn has been making some new sounds...

Gee
Ah bwah
Yaya
Awa
Bob
Akuba
Ah-gah

She is also making a high pitched scream. It's funny because her face gets all red and it's like she is straining when she does it.

I never get to watch her sleep anymore but when I can, I can't help but stare at how beautiful and peaceful she looks.
