November 27, 2014 - First Thanksgiving!

Adelynn had a great first Thanksgiving! It was a snowy, messy drive that took us 7.5hrs to get there, but it was worth it to spend time with family. We even got to play in the snow!

November 25 - Torticollis Update

I made an appointment with a cranialsacral therapist for Adelynn. I noticed her head was getting flat so I asked her pediatrician about this type of therapy and she referred me to Dr. Faulkners. The flatness is from her turning her head one way when laying down because of her Torticollis. We have been trying hard to do lots of tummy time and laying her on her back with a blanket under her side so she doesn't turn her head to the left. This type of therapy massages the head and also does myofascial release on the head. They also do her stretches for the Torticollis and massage her body where it is tight. I feel like I can see a change already after two sessions, her head seems a little rounder. If this therapy doesn't work we will need to have the doc band (helmet).

Her hair is also getting so long!

And this happened!

November 20 - First Trip To The North Pole

We went to the North Pole early this year. That is what happens when you are one day late at booking the tickets - they sell out fast! Even though it was earlier than we would have liked, we still had a great time. Bryanna was so excited this year, by far the most fun we've had going, and Adelynn did so great too!

November 15, 2014 - Sweet Potatoes,

It wasn't love at first sight but Adelynn likes sweet potatoes better than avocado...she almost finished a whole jar! You could also tell she liked it because she would open her mouth wide instead of spitting it back out.

She's been making lots of different noises lately...ahh's, ooo's and moving her mouth all around like she is trying to tell us something. My favorite is when she is tired she says "gee gee gee."

Another thing she does to notify us when she has pooped is make an almost wheezing sound like...it's like she is taking a deep breath through her mouth because it smells so bad - it's funny because Bryanna did the same thing.

She tolerates tummy time really well. She slowly moves around on her tummy and has kind of rolled over a couple of times. I say kind of because we put her arms up under her which helped her. Her leg gets stiff and pushes and she tilts her head, it's her arms that get stuck and hold her up.

We have an appointment with a cranial sacral therapist on the 25th. Her head has gotten a little flat from her Torticollis, so we are hoping it isn't too severe and some therapy can help. I've read online of some children having good results with shaping their head with just a couple of sessions. Her head shape is also like mine and Bryannas...slightly flat in the back.

Also, we don't notice the ptosis in her eye much anymore, mostly when she is a little tired.

November 6, 2014 - First Food!

Adelynn's first food was avocado. She was so funny...she obviously didn't know what to do with that weird tasting stuff that was put into her mouth!
