Septmeber 30, 2014 - Reflux Update, Torticollis
We got our happy baby back! Adelynn has been so much better. I started making my own formula which consisted of liver, chicken stock, healthy oils which provided the fats similar to breast milk, probiotics, etc. It was such a pain to make! It took 24hrs boiling the chicken to get a nice stock...just not for me! And to add to that, the liver pieces would get stuck in the bottles nipple...gross! It turned her poops black which we assume is from all the iron. I'm so glad that we did this because we found out her reflux is worsened because of a casein protein sensativity. We switched to Gerber Goodstart formula and things are going good! No more crying when eating!!! She still spits up a lot but isn't crying or anything.

September 28, 2014 - Alzheimer's Walk, Grandma, Grandpa, Jess, Jake &Audrey Visit
It was so great having our whole family here to walk with us. This is Bryanna's 5th year, Adelynn's first and Grandma, Grandpa, Jess, Jake and Audrey's first year with us. The weather was perfect and we had a great time. Adelynn needed to be fed just before the race and there were no outlets anywhere to heat up her bottle! We were in a panic trying to find a way to heat it up (you have to with the new formula that I made), but we finally found one around the side of a building, thank God! Between Bryanna and Audrey walking slow, stopping to put them in and out of the stroller and feeding Adelynn, we were in last place! That's ok, because we did finish the whole 3 miles!

September 26, 2014 - Reflux
The past week or so have been brutal when feeding Adelynn. I feel so terrible. She will cry so hard when we feed her, want the bottle out of her mouth and then needs it back in immediately, but then cries when it's in. We are trying to stay away from giving her the medicine but in our desperation we gave her 2 dose today. I know it takes longer to kick in, but with two doses in and no change, I decided to try making our own hypoallergenic formula...the Weston A. Price recipe. I ran out to Whole Foods 10 minutes to closing to get the ingredients...I hope it works!

September 18, 2014 - Sneezes, Acid Reflux, More Sister Love!
I forgot to blog about this before but Adelynn sneezes 3 times....every single time! Just like her big sister!!!
We have noticed it for a while now, but it wasn't too bad. I had a feeling she had a little acid reflux since a few weeks after she was born. She would cry when drinking the bottle, so we would take it out and then she would cry because she wanted it back in. The exact same thing Bryanna did at around this age. She also started projectile spitting up all the time, coughing during and after feedings and sometimes gagging during feedings...plus, she always hiccups.
The doctor told us at her 10 week appointment to add cereal to the bottle, so since then we have switched to lactose formula and add little oatmeal to her bottle. We are also trying a homeopathic remedy called Nat Phos 6x. It is completely natural and safe and has seemed to be working. It's similar to the way baking soda neutralizes acid, this is neutralizing the acid in her belly. She is been much happier during feedings which makes us so happy because it was hard to see her like that....just so uncomfortable.

September 12, 2014 - 10 Week Appointment, Clothes
I just have to give a shout out to Grammy Kelly for sending us Bryanna's 0-3 and 3-6 month clothes and also a thank you to Dave & Shannon for getting them for us. It means so much to us that you took the time to get us the clothes. These clothes really mean so much to us. These are the clothes that we got at our one and only shower, and also the clothes that I spent countless hours searching the internet for, imagining my children wearing. They are also special because Bryanna wore them and we saved them for years so if/when we had another girl she could wear them. Not to mention to save money. It breaks our heart that Adelynn wasn't able to wear most of these clothes and if we had known where they were years ago, we would have gotten them back sooner. Out of all of Bryanna's clothes, these are the most special to us, so I'm glad that we at least have the chance to wear some of them. Adelynn is growing so fast and is mostly in 3-6 month size now.

September 7, 2014 - First Miami Game, Cooing
Adelynn has been cooing and smiling up a storm! We've noticed her smiling for a couple of weeks now and was making some noises here and there but it's much more often now. It's like all of a sudden she has this little personality.
She's also such a super stretcher! She curls her body up into a ball and throws her arms up and stretches for minutes at a time. It's so predictable when she does it and I love to watch her - it puts a smile in my face...It's so cute!
Adelynn all dressed up in her Miami gear!

September 6, 2014 - Last Pool Day
We are so sad to be closing up the pool, especially since I can finally use it! Can't wait for next summer to have some lazy pool days with both girls!
Adelynn just chilling on the deck.

September 2, 2014 - Happy 2 Months!
Adelynn continues to be such a great baby! She's eating 4 to 5 ounces every 3 to 4 hours and doing 7 to 8 hours overnight. Her hair is growing and so fast, I swear it's grown a quarter of an inch in a week!
